That's a good thing.

Now if the 750 class can live with Mercury pushing the 850 class as it is "Mercury Only"

So the tommy bahama offset style transmissions we made are now legal again.

What happens when a 750 hp boat dusts an 850 hp?

Can someone post the new rules?

Afraid that will never happen as the 850 is more like 925 hp.

Like I said, this is probably the end of the 750 class as Merc will/is pushing hard for the 850 class and is probably is making it really $$ to go that way.

Dave ..Great looking boat. Yes now you can do what you want in the drive situation. We did this for all the great reasons listed here. To alot of you surprise there were only 6 GUYS who agreed this is a good move.

We believe all manufacturers should be involved in Offshore
Racing.(Including my favorite Weismann )Hopefully we can bring out those old, great boats out there to have fun again.Time will tell. Anyone can contact these teams for any support needed to get those boats on the water.

Let me be the first to say "Congratulations" on a smart decision whos time I felt would never come.

Shocking as you pointed out that a lot of others were against it, even when it does not affect them. No one is being made to change after all.

You mentioned "those old, great boats" does this imply that the only older boats are grandfathered or that even a new boat can have any drive choice?

Rik it is both...We want the new technology and the old.We will try to accomodate any old boat to all run together with the new. After alot of discussion we think our group can make it
work.OSS's cat class allows for any drive just a "spec" engine.
I know SBI and OPA allow it also.Rik the picture of your boat looks familiar. Is that the cool 30 proto Skater???

Tony

Mike has some cool WEISMANN #6 for sale
He can help also with any questions..
