OSS 2008 Schedule

Hello OSS Racers,

As of right now, we have four solid race dates. Biloxi, Orange Beach, LOTO and Destin. We are also considering one west coast race to support the POPRA series. Either Havasu or Long Beach. Please share your thoughts as to which race you would prefer to attend.

We are also meeting with a new race site next week, so we hope to announce a new race sometime before Christmas. We are having conversations with a dozen other cities so we anticipate finding two more sites to fill out our eight race season.

Biloxi = April 2- 6
Havasu AZ - April 26-27 - Potential
Long Beach CA July 11 - 12 - Potential
Orange Beach = August 15 - 17
LOTO = September 26 - 28
Destin = Oct 15 – 19

You'll notice we moved the Destin race up a week to the middle of October. We did this because we know our teams enjoy racing in Key West each year and we wanted to make it more convenient for you to do so. We also hope this date change will allow some new teams to join us in Destin before heading to Key West. We hope this simple move is a benefit to the sport as a whole.

We are also trying to move the Biloxi race up a week to avoid a conflict with the Miami race. More info to follow.

Thats very thoughtful of you to move OUR race dates to accommodate other organizations. I hope some OPA and SBI racers join us this year being you are making a great effort to make it possible. Thanks for the 08 dates.

Hi Ron,
A lot of us Poker Run/offshore boaters from this area (Mid South) have really enjoyed your event on Pickwick Lake for the last several years, I think sponsored in part by Pier 57.
We enjoy the race, poker run and other events .
Is anything on tap for 2008? I hope so!

Great sites Ron. Glad they are the first to be confirmed. Especially since they are all within a 3 - 4 hour drive of my house!

Only thing I wish is that the Orange Beach races weren't competing with the Emerald Coast PR each year. Oh well, life is full of choices. We'll definitely be there for all but the OB race.

I talked to Jim with Desert Storm the other day and he told me the Coast Guard gave permission for the havasu race and was told some of your boats may be comming. Also that same weekend there will be a shootout similar to the one at loto.
