Mercury Racing supports OSS teams in 2009
Thank you Mercury Racing for once again stepping up to support OSS offshore Racing.
See the attached press releases and the 850 program is still in effect through 2010.
Thanks Mercury, we couldn't do it without you!!!

WOW!!!!!! Congratulations Ron and OSS. Not being negative or poking at OSS but I am actually surprised you were able to get that kind of support out of Mercury Racing again. Not for lack of anything to do with OSS or it's Racers but for the simple fact of the shape that Mercury Racing / Mercury Marine / Brunswick Corporation is in. It is not a great one either as most Marine Business's in this country right now. Nice to see Mercury's Loyalty despite the growing poor economy with in the marine industry that we are facing.

There are a couple of more cool sponsorships in the works too. Remember marketing with OSS is a lot cheaper & better return than some other motorsports.

Outboards too. See attached.
The 850 progam is in place through 2010 so no press release is needed.

RACE BOATS

It sound like they are practically giving you power heads if you race all 8 races and they put the contingency money on top of that. In a class that has been reduced in boat count last year this would make for a good class to get into.

Hi Bryan,
The 850 program is the same as last year. At each race Mercury hands me a check for $15,000. OSS then pays that money back to all 850 boats in attendance at that particular race. If 5 boats race in 850, each gets $3000. If 3 boats race, each gets $5000. OSS keeps nothing of the 15k.

how do the p1 rules factor into these contingencies?? Lets say your running 525's and #6 drives in the p1 class ? does that fall under v classification or is that a sep deal ?

Check with Jim Goerlitz but it sure sounds like it would fall under this program.
I believe it's only for the first year the engine and drive are new.
