randy stated in a couple threads that he was very happy with the vent. i never saw randy comment negatively on the event. only on the money.

Let''s not forget (and we won't  This was one of the best, if not the best race of the season.
Super race, super venue, lots of fun.
That little PR imbroglio won't take anything away from that.
Next time if the checks are small again: Just say it beforehand, and many if not most of the racers will be ready to donate their winnings to a worthy cause.
