Re: OPA P6 Rules

Sounds like the SOB class. Remember how these guys showed up in force and made a ton of demands that were mostly agreed to?

Not one SOB has shown up at any race site. Wazzup wit dat?

RACE BOATS
Re: OPA P6 Rules

Im thinking more of the boats that are like Not Guilty and R. Gohegans as being the top boats in P6 and maybe some guys with Baja,s, Fountains,Checkmates and more stock boats might want to come play.

Build a boat to fit into an existing class. Cmon, how many boats are actually out there that fit into that class?

Racing is expensive ...VERY EXPENSIVE. And its tough to campaign a Team without sponsors. Bottom line, if you cant afford to build and maintain a boat for an existing class, you cant afford to race. Im on my last 10 bucks too. its been a very tough 3 years.

Re: OPA P6 Rules

1) Not Guilty, 24 Sunsation
2) Extras, 25 Corsa
3) Poppa Dukes, 24 Carrera
4) Kean, 24 pantera
5) Friendship I, 24 Pantera
6) My Boat, 24 Sunsation

If one looks at the history of racing, the original F1 and A class accounted for over 30 boats per race!
I think we need to look at what was successful in the past and bring it back. The past three years boat counts have dramatically decreased in the northeast races, why?
It's not about the money, its about being "reasonably" competative.

Re: OPA P6 Rules

OK 6 boats..are they going to commit to every NE Race? What happens when they bust up their boat in Race 1 and dont come back because the boat is beyond repair or just to exspensive to repair? I've seen it happen over and over. You just cant blow your load to get a boat ready to race and not have the cash to fix it when it breaks.

There's a reason why 24 foot boats are so inexpensive. Because they cant compete in big water. So ,we go out and buy them anyway, and dump a ****load of money into them, just to beat the hell out of ourselves.

Im my opinion, offering a separate class for these boats is a waste of time. What happen to Extras?? one race, they got beat up and fixed and and havent been back. What about Friendship 1 wheres he been all year? If its not about the money, why isn't your boat ready to go?

Like RonP said. The SOBS were heard and welcomed, and not one showed up all season.

Im not looking to make trouble here, but facts are facts.

Theres a also a reason why the boat count is down. Ask around, Im sure you'll find out why. Otherwise, feel free to call me and I'll be glad to discuss it with you. 908 413 5470
