Extreme Boats Magazine awards Nor-Tech’s “Ballistic” 2006 Extreme Boat of the year!
 

MESA, ARIZONA - October 3, 2006 : Extreme Boats Magazine has awarded Nor-Tech Boats with the prestigious 2006 Extreme Boat of the Year award for their 47’ Nor-Tech Full Canopy Super Cat “Ballistic”.

Ballistic, owned by Bill Pyburn of Florida, premiered at the 2006 Miami International Boat show. Bill explains, “I wanted the ultimate performance boat, so I brought together the best of the best for the project.”

Extreme Boats Magazine Publisher Casey Kiernan agrees, “We travel all over the country to seek out the best performance boats. Every year there is one project that is the most extreme in its class, and this year that boat was clearly Nor-Tech’s ‘Ballistic’. This entire project has raised the bar for innovation and has surpassed anything we have seen in the industry this year. Every company and individual involved with the project brought out their "A+" game. Nothing was held back during Ballistic’s creation from stem to stern. Congratulations goes out to Nor-Tech and everyone who contributed to the project.”

Ballistic is a 47’ Nor-Tech Canopy Super Cat and includes a fully automatic, retractable canopy, complete with a remote control key fob. The design and paint were performed by Dean Loucks and the crew at The Art of Design (TAOD). TAOD designed the paint scheme for the entire rig, including exterior and interior of the boat, the engines, tow vehicle and MYCO trailer. The custom high-end Audio/Visual System was designed and installed by UXAudio. The boat was sold thru Randy Sweers of FASTBOATS.COM.

The 1750 hp engines, which premiered at the 2006 Miami International Boat show, where custom designed and built by legendary engine builder Keith Eickert. The powerplants feature Vortec Superchargers and EFI Fuel injection on DART Blocks with CP Performance Pistons and Corrillo Rods. Final drives are BMP surface drives running 5-blade Herring propellers.
