2006 Offshore Super Series National High Points Contingency Purse Winners
FOND DU LAC, Wis. Oct. 19, 2006 – Mercury Racing is pleased to announce winners of the $75,000 Offshore Super Series (OSS) National High Points contingency prize purse for the 2006 racing season. The purse is to reward racers who use Mercury Racing-approved outboards and sterndrives in OSS National Series events in OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite and OSS Cat Outboard class competition. OSS Cat class competitors using Mercury Racing-approved OSS Cat engine packages were rewarded a separate Mercury Racing Winners Circle promotional credit program. Mercury Racing supported the contingency programs by providing onsite support at all 2006 OSS race events, with the legendary Mercury Racing offshore product support truck and staff.

The $75,000 purse for OSS National Series title winners is distributed to the top five places in OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite and OSS Cat Outboard classes, based on the total points each race boat accumulates in the OSS National Series during the 2006 race season. The $75,000 purse for the winners at each individual OSS National Series event were distributed to OSS Cat Lite, OSS Vee, OSS Vee Lite and OSS Cat Outboard class competition. Each first place class winner using Mercury Racing-approved HP525 EFI engines and OSS class-approved sterndrives or Mercury Racing 2.5 EFI Offshore Race outboards in the OSS National Series for the 2006 racing season, was awarded a retail value promotional credit per event. The overall World Championship title winners in these classes are also being awarded a retail value promotional credit.
