Miccosukee Indian Gaming Team Are the New OSS Super-V World Champions
Destin FL – November 12, 2006 –Driver Brett Furshman and throttleman Joe Sgro are to be congratulated on achieving the ultimate award for the season – the OSS World Champions of Super V class in the new Outerlimits SV40. This title comes on the heels of the National OSS Super V championship which they won in Las Vegas NV.
Thursday’s race got a little hairy when the Fountain ‘Love Muscle’, got out of shape and crashed into the Miccosukee boat. The Fountain boat incurred serious damage and retired early. Although the Outerlimits Miccosukee boat received superficial damage and was down for more than 6 minutes, they recovered, restarted and managed to finish in second place only a minute and 30 seconds behind Fury. The duel continued on Sunday, with Miccosukee needing to beat Fury by more than a minute and 30 seconds. They charged off in convincing fashion, beating Fury by over three minutes and lapping them on the last lap. The Miccosukee Outerlimits SV40’s average race speed was 100 MPH. The second place team only averaged 90 miles per hour.
The boat, owned by Mike Fiore, president of Outerlimits, has been specifically built for the Super-V series. The outstanding performance and durability of this boat and team demonstrates that this is one of the most technically advanced boats on the circuit and is being run by one of the most experienced teams around.
“Having an Outerlimits win both the World and National Championships in OSS is a major high point for all of us,” stated Mike Fiore as he joined the team with their checkered flag in hand. “We look forward to an amazing 2007 race season”.
