Outerlimits Celebrates 16th Anniversary
Bristol RI, July 10, 2009 – Sixteen years and still going strong. Outerlimits celebrated its 16th anniversary with double wins in the Powerboat P1 series in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. The Italian #88 SNAV OSG team, an Outerlimits SV43 crewed by Giancarlo Cangiano and Giovanni Carpitella, captured the weekend's Grand Prix title, coming in first in both the Sprint and Endurance races held Saturday and Sunday. “Capturing the weekend’s Grand Prix of the Sea title was a fitting way to commemorate this important date for Outerlimits”, stated Paul Fiore, of Outerlimits. “It’s been a great season so far.” In the six Powerboat P1 races, Outerlimits has come in first place four times.
Another event which took place on the Outerlimits anniversary, Mike Fiore, president of Outerlimits, personally delivered the first 52SL to a client in Italy. The 52SL is powered by twin Mercury 1075’s, attaining speeds of 120 mph. The customer is absolutely thrilled with the outstanding ride and speed of this new boat while enjoying all the amenities that he requested. The air-conditioned cabin features stand up headroom, decked out with the finest leather upholstery, exotic wood trim, large flat screen TV, entertainment center and galley. The galley has been equipped with two refrigeration units – one - a separate freezer to hold his special ice cream. Comfortable lounge seating, a large V-berth, recessed lighting and a private, spacious and well appointed head and shower provide the luxury expected in a full size yacht. And all these amenities are powered by the boat’s on-board generator. The SL52 will be based in Sardinia, Italy.
This year also marks some revolutionary new models for Outerlimits. The new 44SL, which will set a new standard for boat construction, is nearing completion. The new technology used in the boat consists of an all carbon x-frame. The result is the ultimate in v-bottom boats. Although the marine market is soft, Outerlimits continues with its innovations and success with new models and new technology.
