Team AMSOIL Offshore Battles to the Lead!
Team AMSOIL geared up the 368 Skater Superboat for the 7th Annual Clearwater Super Boat National Championship, September 25-27. This year was the first time the Team returned to this race site since 2010, when they were victorious over the then-brand-new Stihl 388 Skater. Clearwater is always a great venue with excellent spectator attendance on both the beach and boat viewing areas. The course is a slightly modified right-hand rectangle with the start/finish line and turn 1 in close proximity to a large pier, creating a unique viewing experience for fans and a dicey racing experience for the drivers!
On Friday the entire boat and both engines were inspected and serviced, with excellent results, no doubt due to the proven techniques of Teague Custom Marine and proven products of AMSOIL Synthetics. Saturday was the designated testing time for the event and conditions were typical of the Gulf of Mexico this time of year. Wind was from onshore and the water was smooth but not very fast, with sloppy bumps here and there.
