OPA Awards Party - RSVP
Hello Race Fans,
This is your invitation! Put down the snow shovel and come out and party with da Boyz while we crown the new OPA High Points Champion with the coveted Stuggot's Cup. At this moment, last year's winner, Tony Pacheco of Bad Boy Powerboats is prying open his trophy case and returning the Cup to OPA Headquarters so that it may be passed on to the next Champion.
All the excitement will take place at the Sawmill Bar and Restaurant on the southern most point of the Seaside Heights, NJ Boardwalk. Get directions, by going to www.mapquest.com and making a map for "1 Ocean Terrace Seaside Heights, NJ 08751".
Party Date - Saturday - February 25th
Schedule of events
3 - 5pm - Registration for 2006 race teams
5pm - Registered Racers Only meeting - Second Floor
6:30 - 9pm - OPA WINTER AWARDS PARTY - Second Floor
9pm - Physicals
If you need a hotel, try these; they are both on Rt 37 West, just off Exit 82 on the Garden State Parkway.

2nd Choice - Howard Johnson - www.tomsriverhojos.com - 732.244.1000
The newly renovated Sawmill is going to put out a nice spread for us. The cost is $40 per adult and kids under 17 are free. There will be a cash bar with anything you want. Please fill out the attached form and fax, mail or email it into OPA. By email use [email protected].
Please fill out the form prior to your arrival so we can avoid having to do it all at the door. Thank You!
All Racers that want to attend the meeting must register for the 2006 season prior to the meeting. Please go to the resource page at www.oparacing.com and download all the new 2006 forms and bring them with you all filled out or mail/fax/email them in early. The racing is free but we need to collect boat registration ($500) and riding crew member ($100 each) fees to cover expenses associated with running the organization, such as buying new turn pillows.
We anticipate a great evening with OPA, AMF and the Jersey Boyz, bring your helmet! Everyone is welcome to the party; this is not a racer only event.
If you have any questions, please send an email to Ed at [email protected] or call 732.920.3945.
Thank you,
OPA

Re: OPA Awards Party - RSVP
I have lots of questions...but cant seem to get a return phone call. Maybe you should have an alternate contact.
Congrats to all the high points winners. I dont think I'll be able to make it.
Whatever you all decide at the meeting is fine with me.

Re: OPA Awards Party - RSVP
Hi Otis,
Either way. We could use some $ to get through to the first race, so please send in your registration fees. Since this is your first year racing, it might be a good idea to have a team mate at the meeting if it's possible.
I'm sure the meeting will be informative. See ya in Miami!

Re: OPA Awards Party - RSVP
Ron, What else is on the agenda for the rules meeting? Are there other things that will be voted on at the meeting or is it to vote on the GPS system or the speed check at the beginning of the race season? Seems like lots of ideas have surfaced over the winter and this would be the time to either accept them or reject them for the season. Will these types of ideas not only be discussed but implemented for the season if thats what the registered voters of the meeting want? If nothing else is going to be voted on and implemented for the season then just tell us now.Don't take this the wrong way. I am a need to know kinda guy before the meeting. Keep up the hard work its going to be the best year yet!

Re: OPA Awards Party - RSVP
MD & Willie,
The agenda is open. We have the one big item to work through but after that, we can talk about other issues. That's why the rule book has been pulled off the website. We are waiting for this meeting to finalize the rules for 2006, and hopefully beyond.
What items besides - form of speed verification and class structure - would you like to discuss? Just list the topics, not the full discussion.
