Default Smitty, before we get to Algonac...

Can we get a clarification on how we are to set up concerning the strong current. I have spoken to a few others and we would like to know exactly what to do. If we set up for 75mph (class 5) in the bay we would run 77mph down stream and 73 up stream with a 2mph current, would you take the average? Or do we set up to run 75mph up stream and hold back going downstream? Any help would be appreciated.

Eddie

Guy's, Smitty's on his first vacation in about 4 years. He'll be back next Monday afternoon. Eddie, if the class is 75 that means 75 the way I understand it. You can't break out anytime on the course. I'm sure when Smitty gets back he'll clarify this. Hope that helps for now.

This exact question came up at the go kart fund raiser and we were told; 75mph is just that, It’s your responsibility to make sure you don’t break out.

St. Clair is worse with a 7 MPH current. Algonace can get pretty rough at times as the channel is pretty narrow but makes for some great fly by shots.

Eddie, Sorry I took so long to post here. As it stands, we had voted last year, the speed for the race was 75, reguardless of the current. This is what we will inforce. Unless the teams vote otherwise. I am setting up an OPA team conference call for next week. We can disscuss any changes at that time. Thanks Smitty
