Is it normal to not even have your boat assembled 2 weeks before the 1st race?

I think other Racers wonder if I even work on the boat at home, seem I work on it in the pits from the time I get there to drop of the green flag. I told Mark that my gole for this year is to show up Race ready and maybe test at the most.
