;The key thing to remember is NO PARKWAYS! I know it looks tempting, but there are low bridges and vehicle/road limitations.
For traffic reasons and load sizes, Route 95 (Interstate 95) to the George Washington Bridge, Go over it, stay on 95 which is called the Cross Bronx Expressway at that point, till you see the Throgs Neck Bridge which you will go over to route 295 south which is the Clear View Expressway, DO NOT get on the Cross Island "Parkway", take 295 south to route 495 east which is the Long Island Expressway to exit 63 if you're staying at the Radisson, they also have a map on there web site.
There are other ways like the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway but I recommend saving your bravery for the race course!
***** Parkways, like the Belt Parkway, DO NOT permit Commercial Trucks, Dually Vehicles, Over-sized loads, trailers and other like vehicles.

Your best bet if at all possible is to hit the cross bronx after 9am and before 2pm. Get in the left lane and take your time. When you see signs for whitestone bridge get into your right lane. Take the throggs neck bridge and follow directions. Be preparred to fork over big $ for the toll.
When you approach this exit (take 295 south to route 495 east which is the Long Island Expressway ) slow down..sharp curve and turn! Once on I-495 stay out of the left lane, they will give you a ticket with a trailer.
