To All Racers!
Please return your GPS tracking unit (J2 or Premier unit) for checkup asap! You must fill out the form below first in order to receive a Return Materials Authorization (RMA). Then once you receive the RMA number you may send it back.
The Premier GPS unit must be returned for a free firmware upgrade. If Frank Vecce has your Premier unit then he will have already had it updated before he hands it back to you. If Frank does not have it, then you must send it in for the free firmware upgrade or it will not work at the race site in Ocean City.
Please check the 2010 GPS tab at the web site http://www.oparacing.org/ for GPS information.
The first race is May 28th in Ocean City , Maryland so you must send it out soon. Thank you, Regards, OPA

Finally getting back to an internet connection today, not that I had anytime to spare anyway...
I arrived in Ocean City at 10 AM Saturday.
I was in the Pits the entire day shooting everything.
Thanks to Scotty B of Miss Geico for the opportunity to do my Photo Shoot of Miss Geico. He allowed Sharkey-Images Full Access and I did my usual tour inside and out. You will be amazed at how the inside construction of this boat has been done.
It was sad to come back after the boat caught fire, but fortunately no one was hurt and it only left minor cosmetic damage to their new fairing behind the canopy.
The boat was being worked on all day. When it finally came down to lighting the engines off, the port engine had been flooded with fuel and was still laying in the bottom of the engine.
When the engine lit, this forced out a mass amount of fuel all at once and with the wind blowing hard as it was the lit fuel was blown back towards the boat and melted the vinyl and paint but that was all. A little sandpaper and some new vinyl she was back to looking good.
Miss Geico made it to the milling area on race day but unfortunately lost a fuel pump and was unable to run the event.
It just was not their weekend. The guys worked so hard into the night to have her ready by the morning only to have a a fuel pump fail.
I am sure she will be ready and in tip top shape for Sunny Isles, Fl in 2 weeks.
I am processing my images now.
My office internet connection is failing me big time while uploading but I will get what I can online ASAP.
It will certainly need a COMCAST service call and who knows how long that will take.
It just stalled again after loading 10 images.
The GO KART CHALLENGE from Saturday which I attended after leaving directly from the Pits on Saturday are almost all online.
I skipped the racers Party at Sunset Marina to get all of those pics processed. So that is why I started to load those 1st.

I started early in the morning on SUNDAY shooting pics of Ocean City, the Driver's Meeting, more Dry Pit Shots as well as the Safety Volunteer Meeting... At this point is was about 10 AM and I still had no idea where I was going to be shooting from. I was advised that an experienced Spotter/Radio Person would have the seat in the Chopper, so therefore I needed a new perch.
Just minutes before the Start / Finish boat was to depart, I was able to pick up a ride with Jeremy, the owner of a 60' Hatteras.
I think I may have had the best seat on the course literally hanging from the hard top by my right leg with 2 cameras strapped to the rail and another around my neck...
Soon as I have a chance to post pics I will.
