Thanks everyone !

It only took me several years in Ocean City to finally get some air I can shoot through !

The West wind on Saturday allowed for good enough air quality to actually shoot from the 9th floor of the hotel, just the guys were still a bit too far offshore.

As the wind came around on Sunday out of the South East it allowed for the mist and haze to come back in over the water.

As long as I get close enough to the boats it isn't too much of an issue.

I managed to find the right captain to get me where I needed to be at all times.

Thanks to Capt Greg Hall of Tow Boat US Ocean City Maryland Coast Towing inc.

These images wouldn't have been possible without his help !

Sorry I couldn't get you onboard Sunday Tim, but it is just as well, we got soaked during the second race and there was nowhere to hide on the boat, I'm afraid you would have ruined some very expensive equipment.

That's one of the reasons I carry heavy duty plastic bags for my equipment. You never know when a squall will come through.

Over the last several years in OC, for some reason my shooting location had changed at the last minute.
One year I ended up shooting on the beach and it was a total waste of time. If that was my last resort this year I was ready to just pack it in and head home.

After asking a few officials about boats and what was available no one seemed to know... So I approached the owner of Pace Boat 1. He found out 1 person he had coming just canceled and mentioned he had room for me and to meet him at the ramp. With no surprise 1/2 hour later 3 more people were added to his boat and as usual too late to make it to get on the Start/Finish as they were already to leave the dock before I could get there. So as you could see this explains my urgent call to you.
I appreciate all the calls of help that came in from people when they found out I was without a shooting location... By this time I already approached Tow Boat US and they were able to accommodate me.
I am so glad they did because now I have Photos and Videos of "Behind the Scenes" of setting up the course and the job Tow Boat US does for the races.

Although the captain never asked for a thing in return, I assured him that a Tow Boat US Banner Ad will be added to the Sharkey-Images.com website for his generosity.

I am looking forward to producing a video of my own from the races. The footage just coming in after the races gave me a small feeling of like being on The Deadliest Catch ...

Thank you any way Ted.

Hopefully I can use Tow Boat US for the future races in Ocean City. Then at least I don't have to rely on anyone from the organization. The Tow Boat US sure gave me a full panoramic view of just about the entire course. I stayed away from Turn 1 as I knew another person was already picture taking from that location.

After AMSOIL stuffed their boat , I am sorry I didn't head down that way now.

The disappointment I saw in Bob when I had to tell him I missed him stuffing was not something I wanted to see...

At least they were both ok...
