Phones were weird up there last weekend. I have never had issues sending texts, pics. This weekend was the first I can remember there being any problem and we go there alot.

Come on guys, asking for results prior to the 7pm awards comences or ends is a little premature, don't ya think. (Schedule of events has had the location & time for the awards for over a month http://oparacing.org/race2.html)

Since you agree Craig, can you handle the OSO posting to keep everyone updated at the Solomons race?

That would be shame then. Many of us dont do the face book thing and depend on reports from these sites. I checked every day since Friday to see whats happening and nothing at all. If you dont want people to know there is a race going on then there doing a great job!!! As far as I know the orgs dont have a marketing person thats in charge of these things but rather fans are the only people posting any updates. Im ok with that, its better than nothing. Its absolutely insane to me being in business that the orgs dont see the benefit of this info being put out to fans at home on a min of 2 times a day during the event and every 15 min during a race. Many of us racers have friends at the race and are sitting home and checking the sites for info to see how our friends and favorite teams are doing. Its all unofficial reporting in my book but its something.
I will make a side wager with anyone that if you posted regular at the race site you would get a load of hits on that thread that weekend. Isnt that what the race towns and producers want. Am I missing something?

So to answer some of your questions:
- The OPA website got over 3000 hits this past weekend for the Tawas race.
- OPA FB reached over 2000 people from 6/18-6/24
- AMSOIL OPA FB page reached over 1100 people from 6/18-6/24
- Heritage Coast FB page reached 880 people from 6/18-6/24
I am only one person and at times need help. Randy you got my number and we are friends, call me next time and I'll give you the scoop of what is going on and you can post
I gave up on my phone came Saturday morning as the cell reception was not going well for me. I attempted to get on my laptop on Saturday but was unable to get any type of connect.
Hell, I think my above numbers are damn good for those that followed this race.
PS - How much posting did you do in Ocean City. Like I said, I'm kinda taking this thread very personal as I am trying my best to get official information out there. Don't worry we are still friends, I just may give ya little smack next time I see ya

First off, please accept my apology. I was not in any way trying to pizz YOU off!!
Now...
If you are asking me if I want your job.... the answer is no. I already have one lined up in Solomons that will keep me busy.... and I have a 1987 flip-phone, not one of those fancy-schmantzy smart phones!
Go back and read the post from F1-00 and then Randy's post. I was agreeing with Randy who was responding to the F1-00 guys post that there wouldn't be any updates in the future on the websites. That's all!! Many people (including me) like to follow the races that we can't attend. Smitty is right, live webcasts would be awesome!! I also wasn't aware of the lack of internet coverage or cell coverage at the time of my post...
