Not going to make it out this year
Well I tried really hard to get the boat ready and it was very close up until Monday night that is. Boat was running flawlessly and I should of because things run the best before failure. I was running at 3,100 rpm into a turn and I had a motor shut off. Still had oil pressure, wasn't hot, and water pressure was good.
Went to re fire and the motor was locked up. Well limped it back on one screw. Following day pulled plugs and tried to turn it over and locked (spotless), checked oil (not burnt no water or particles) oil filter was clean. pulled the drive and that's fine. Needless to say the motor has internal failure.
If anyone is in nj and feels the need to help a brother pull a motor and strip it down. Let me know
Good Luck the rest of the year

I am in the same positon - the hell if I am going to give up. I don't give a rats ass if I am boating in October but I will be damned sure the thing is running in 2012. And trust me - with 6 kids ages 5 - 16 that is no small feat. You posted yesterday at 3:45 - you should have the motor 1/2 way ready to be pulled by now. You got this - get er done.

Hell - if you don't feel like working on yours you can come down and work on mine!!
Think about it - you live in Brigantine (beautiful place - was part of my stomping grounds as a kid - and no you do not need a four wheel drive pass as long as you do not get caught!! ) and are making some coin right now. Break out the cold ones, invite some friends over, wrench on the motor for a while and take a break to hit the beach bar or a casino with the peeps. Repeat as necessary until the boat is running. Hell - I may come over for that.

I made the decision. Well Josh talked me into it but I'm bringing the boat up to Lightning Jacks Monday evening. We will rip her down and Josh will make her prom date ready
