SVL numbers
To all the SVL and future SVL teams at OPA. We are all working on our boats for the first race and wanted to make sure we have the proper size, color and back ground on our numbers. We all have gotten away from the rules on this. With as many as 10 teams at the start and lots of the same color boats the scoring people will need to see our numbers to be sure. Thanks

Any chance you guys can go to a 1-digit thru 2-digit numbering? Choose numbers 2-99.
Speaking from a scoring side, the 3 digit numbering makes it difficult from a scoring perspective being there is no guarantee that the same people score at every race. When teaching people how to score and the difference in classes this makes it a tad difficult for them.
And before you get into the other classes (blah blah blah), can we please work with on one class at a time.
Bottom line .... the number must be a distinctive color contrast of the boat!

Numbers shall be vinyl or paint in black vertical block lettering over a white background. If applied to a white hull, a black border must surround them. numbering must be in direct contrast to the color of the hull. The minimum height of each number shall be eighteen (18) inches, minimum width shall be thirteen (13) inches, and minimum stroke shall be three (3) inches. Minimum spacing between each number shall be four (4) inches.
(Racers have been good with this .... with a quick glance at my photos from last season, the "P" has either been covered over or removed.)

Ryan what size do you think works on our smaller boats? We would have 2 numbers and a back ground. Possably you could show us to scale in a shop drawing if you had a chance. My boat is not at my shop. I agree there should be a differant size for the smaller boats under 30' but also dont want to open a can of worms.
