So what engines are the extreme cats running? How much power? I know the MTI has some Scorpion motors, what about the 388 Skater?

SCL is required to run twin 525 EFI engines....As for OPA extreme class, it has to run with 600 hp each, good enough to run at max 135 mph on the course....no faster than 135 mph.

Basically, there is no HP limit in the Extreme Class. The motors MUST be piston power and is bracketed up to 135 mph.

So why the speed limit? Hope there is a good explanation, cause it might be the stupidest thing I have ever heard!

Most likely an INSURANCE requirement. If I am not mistaken, SBI's top class has a max speed as well . I believe it always did.

Insurance for racing? Why not- Not make it the top class?
