I refuse to speak for Doc or Dan, but this article was put out today and it might answer a few questions for you
Janssen, a surgeon from Colorado who owns a home on the lake, thought he was signing up to compete against five or six other Super Vee Light race boats. Well that was until the other participants in the class found out Janssen had registered to race his technologically advanced V-bottom and decided to pull out, essentially in protest. So, without a class to compete against, Janssen and Davies, who normally races his Global Warmer Fountain, decided to give it a go in the Performance Xtreme (PX) class. SOURCE
Guess if another boycott happens they'll move up to Extreme with their OSS legal SVL(to race at LOTO it had to pass the most stringent tech in all of offshore, or so I have been told)

Speaking for the Lilly Sport Boats Super Vee Light team we were never aware of a protest because Doc was taking his boat. We had never made plans to attend Loto but it sounds like it was a Awesome time and we are sorry we missed it. Brit is excited for Doc and Dan to be in AC and welcomes the competition.
