It is with a heavy hearts the Pirate Team must announce the passing of team mate Carlos McClendon. Carlos was special and will leave a void in racing and our family that can never be filled. He gave cancer a tremendous fight but in the end the good Lord decided to take him home.

The Knot Guilty Race Team would like to express our condolences to Carlos's family, the Pirate Racing Team, and to all those
who knew him. He was a good person and it is so sad to see him go at such a young age. Anything we can do don't hesitate to ask.

Its so sad when you lose a friend. He was loved by all and will be missed at the races. Carlos was a behind the scenes kind of guy. Always there, always helping and never complained about anything or anyone. He won the Jimmy Welsh sportsman trophy this year which is something your peers vote on. That says a lot about Carlos and what kind of man he was. We can only hope to have people like him on our lives. I wish it was for a longer period of time but it wasn't meant to be. RIP my friend and say hello to the Trophy *****.

I would also like to express my condolences to Family, The Pirate Team and all those whom knew him. While I only had the chance to get to know him for a couple years, it was something i looked forward to every year when he came to town. I had the chance last year to get to know him a bit better and he made a huge impact on my life. I want to thank him for that. I will truly miss to days of hanging out on Friday & Saturday nights, at the race sites, till the wee hours of the morning wondering, "How we were going to function tomorrow?". God Speed my Friend, You will be missed.
