37 single step drive ratio ?????
new to site looking for insite on drive ratio, 1:36 bravo's on boxes spinning bravo 26's @ 5000 now. building some xr's & was thinking 1:50 ratio would be a better combo, engine's can spin to 6000+ but want to say around 5400-5500. boat's best pass so far is 85.3 @ 5050 rpm.
thanks in advance,
Dan

what motors are u running? I've got a 97 single step with carb 500's on box's with standard bravo 1.50's. Hydro 27's labbed up to 28's its' running on the rev limiters, 5350 at 85mph best. average 83 84 any day. the boat came with 28 bravo's with diffuser rings and ran 79 80. The hydromotives are much faster on any boat i've owned, but a little harder to get out of the water. hope this helps.

With all the new props on the market, I would go with the 1.5 ratio. The specs I've seen, twin Bulldogs should run about 85, twin 525sc run 87 and twin 600sc about 90. These speeds are bravos with boxes.
