I was shooting a video with one hand, programming the transmission with the other....and driving with my knee. Tell me its doesn't sound like an offshore engine! Gary said all it needed was a set of props on the back of it.

He ran out of gas money and his insurance bill came due. I paid those things for him for the 1st year of ownership.

I built it and tuned it on the dyno. YPM had me a custom made cam ground for it. I am final tuning it in the truck with a dual channel wide band O2 meter. The tranny is an overdrive 4L80E with 300M shafts all the way through, redline clutches, Bauman stand alone TCM that you tune with a laptop. I also had TCI build me a custom 6 pinion planetary with a 2.97:1 first gear and a 1.57:1 second gear. It is a standard stall convertor. The axles have 4:56:1 gears. I am carbed on the 572 but I have a TPS sensor mounted on the carb so that the tranny knows throttle position.

ahh badass setup !

custom gears for an 80e ! . . . wow that's gotta be nice. Anything extra to get the custom gears to fit ?

I have an 04 Chevy crew cab with the 80e. I've cammed it, killed the trans, rebuilt it, then put a 3K stall in it . . . but it sounds nothing like yours. I use HP Tuners to tune my truck.

I saw the laptop on the floor, and thought that you had some kind of EFI system for the 572.

Here's my tank

Sounds good. No additional mods to put the custom planetary in. Just make sure to allow for about 4 weeks lead time with TCI to build the custom planetary with lower first and second gears. They don't have them sitting on the shelf.
