Prop Advice Please
Hi everybody. I had some off season engine upgrades and now need to think about props. Boat is a 42 Legacy (early non epoxy), staggered, No. 6 drives. Not sure what gear ratio. Engines dynoed roughly 1000 with accessories and headers. Looking to maximize cruise at 4000 rpm, willing to sacrifice some top end (my normal run is 60 miles each way). I would appreciate your thoughts, especially if you have personal experience. I would also appreciate your thoughts at 1150 hp as I am considering a blower increase (currently only pushing 6.5 lb through 871s). Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Need to know your gear ratio, but keep in mind the lower the drivers the better the cruise speed and handling. You need to know your slip numbers to evaluate the drive height, but don't be afraid to put a spacer in the drive if the slip numbers are high. A 17 is a good diameter and 18 deg rake is good, set the pitch to your maximum RPM.
