That's not entirely fair - I think it's legitimate to determine if something is even in the budget before spending the time to determine if it's worth the price. So if someone knows their car budget is $100,000 or less, they don't need to spend the time judging whether a 458 Italia is a good value or not. Value is based on an ordinal set - if the item is outside the set, value is irrelevant.

In general, you have to understand the value .........................before you can consider the price,( assuming it is in your budget)
