Default Prop Testing on 24

Hey guys wanted finally to get the info posted on how I made out with Throttle up and hydromotive this spring when testing props in St. Petersburg. I Started with a 27 Pitch mirage plus labbed finished Spun at 5700 rpm 81.7 on Gps had to really drive the boat. Next went to 27 pith 4 blade hydro labbed spun at 5200 and ran 79.0 mph, Handling was extremely better. Next 25 pitch hydro 4 blade stock, 5700 rpm 81.5 mph handling was pretty good. Next went to 26 pitch hydro 4 blade stock but no diffuser ring, got 5550 rpm 81.7 mph and handling was better than previous prop. Went back to the dock and Matt and the guys from hydro had narrowed it down to a 4 blade hydro with some lab finishing. I finally said after talking to them if you have a 5 blade were here lets try it.They happened to have a 26 pitch P-5X stock prop that we threw on the boat. Well I could not believe how well the boat performed, it was like driving a new boat all over again. The boat literally wanted to drive itself. I was so blown away I let Dangerous Dave take the wheel and reasure me that I was not crazy. The numbers were 5300 rpm 79.5 mph.The conditions that day in Tampa Bay were 1 to 2 foot chop ocassional 3 ftr 10-15mph winds, 84 Deg. and high humidty the boat was running very rich. I cant thank Throttle up and hydromotive enough for the education that day. It was a great experience and I have ordered a 24 pitch p-5x to get my rpm up and speed also. If anyone wants to pick my brain give me a call 860 883 6851. Thanks Anthony. P.S we really did not think that the 5 blade would work this well on a 24 Pantera.

I had the same great experience dealing with Throttle Up. It amazing how one prop compares with another. I also spin a 4 blade prop faster than I could spin the same pitch in a 3 blade. The quality & finish on the Hydromotive props are amazing. I could not be happier.

Hey Storm I would be more than happy to meet up with you one afternoon and let you either try the prop or even take a ride in my boat with the 5 blade. The only thing is I have to get it first..

T, we'll be in touch. Do you trailer much or would you rather run to meet.
I found out that staying at surfside 3 at chelsea piers is only $1/ft for 4hrs and $2/ft for the whole day... thats cheaper than parking your car!!!
But the fuel costs would more than even it out... but that would be a great run and a fun day.

Right now I'm spinning a 23p mirage+ at 5500.
Should be closer to 5700-5800.
I wish I could bring my boat to a testing like that. wish i had the time.

Hey Storm,
It does not sound like your engine is making the power it did on the dyno...
You should be able to spin a 25p at 5500-5600.
What kind of max. speed you seeing?
She should run 80+...

Still only saw 75 last weekend.
I don't get it either... But it sure seems fast at those speeds.
Could my GPS be wrong?

Hey Pat I have a 28 pitch bravo 1 that I can 0nly spin about 5200 rpm but the boat handles much better with the 4 blade bravo than my mirage plus. I am trying to free up next weekend so that I can hang out both days, look forward to meeting you then.

Storm I usually drop the boat in Norwalk and run around from there. I would most likely just shoot across and meet you. I will have to look at the charts and see where chelsea pier is located but that sounds like a good time.
