Default is my X dimension too high?

hey pantera guys, looking for some input,i have a 1990, 24 CONDOR ,seems pretty similar to the 24 pantera, probably a splash.its got a 500 hp 502- bravo 1. i just finished raising the x over this past year, with the drive down the propshaft is 4 1/2 inches below the hull, it used to be 7 1/2 inches below. this hull has a little pad at the stern ,instead of a straight v all the way back. my dilema is it slips 1000 rpm after 2500 getting on plane, and underway with normal trim i'm throwing a big roost tail, ive tried a bravo 1 labbed 26 ,and a 28 bravo 1 non labbed, planes the same with both props,5200 rpm WOT with the 26 @ 74mph and 4600 WOT @70 MPH with the 28. i feel like i'm realy slipping the prop, and the boat is a real handfull after 70. any advice or similar experiences? thanks, bob

What speeds were you seeing before you raised the X?

picked up 6 mph and 600 rpms with the 26p B1. sounds bout right. as far as the slip, you may be getting blow out. try a 1 inch spacer. with the 26. you may be a bit too high

you can either find someone who may have a spacer you can borrow. or you can buy one from one of the many hp suppliers. Teauge, Imco, Eddie Marine, Rex, Livorsi etc etc.

also check the parts swap from time to time. someone may have one for sale

Hey Bob,
The boat looks great! Did you fix that tab yet?
We need to hook up soon. Weekends I have my son most times but Tuesday nights I can let her rip.

You are not that far off. Your numbers are vary similar to mine.
With a stock 28p B1 4600rpm is about 72mph, and my boat tops out at 4800rpm and 75.
With my labbed 26p B1, she runs 72-73 before hitting the rev limit.
Bruce is probably right a 1" spacer should do the trick...

yea,its looking like i'm an inch to high, even jo from pantera sent me an email,i guess its better to be too high than too low,at least i can fix it with a spacer, now i just have to find one. i'm gonna run my 26 labbed bravo 1 for now,the motor really responds nice at any rpm with that prop,i think the 28 would be ok if i had it labbed .i'm not too comfortable driving this boat over 70,but 0-70 its a blast !! we'll see how it reacts after i get the drive down a little. pat ,we definately have to hook up,we usually tie up near haddam island on the weekends. thanks for all the replies guys, this site is the best!!!

I've got a 1/2" spacer if you're interrested in it. Email is a little faster for me since I can't get to OSO at work.
