Re: Gen 2`s out Gen 3 in
I would love to hear what the power difference is between gen3's and good cmi's. I'm using the gen 3's,they are ugly and big but they will start looking better to me if I knew they are making more power than cmi's ,Smitty

Went out today for the last time with the Gen 2`s, it was a gorgeous 78 degrees here in sunny Miami with 2 footers.

Re: Gen 2`s out Gen 3 in
So have any of you guys bolted on gen 3's after removing cmi's and actually saw a speed increase? My motor was dynoed with cmi's at crockett's and then I installed it in my boat with stainless marine 3's. When I tested the afr as installed on the water my air fuel ratio's had went from the 11.2-11.7 it showed on the dyno to 10-10.5 so I figured they might be more restrictive even though they are humungous. I also run ggb mufflers but they actually make boat idle better and made zero difference in top end rpm's/speed,Smitty

Ok with the CMIs 6 lb boost boat ran 92 mph steped up in pulley 4 teeth 9 lb boost seen no mph increase or rpm gain ,went to bigger camshaft . Crane 741 236-246 to 262-272 picked up nothing . So in my small brain all is left is exhaust ??

b-stubb,
is your 28 a full cabin? I noticed it looked like the transom was notched. What is the upper drive unit? Lastly what kinda pwr are you making?
Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to learn something.
Thanks,
Tom
