Like he said , I don't know who has or has had the fastest 24'
But I do know that T-Mones is running very good for a 24. I believe he is making somewhere around 600 hp & running somewhere in the low to mid 80's on GPS. I am shure there will be someone here that will know better than me exactly what he is running. I just remember reading a thread on here where he was posting some prop testing results. Do a search. Keep in mind that his boat will be a few hundred pounds lighter than yours due to the layup & newer glass technology. Later , Scott

I talked with a guy that has a '79, he called me about drives and stuff when my boat was for sale. He had bought it less power and installed a 632" solid roller motor with 800+ Hp at 6200rpm's. He was still dialing in the rig but had a first run of 93 on gps with a stock mirage+ prop, I think he is going for solid 95 - 100 speeds. I think it had one of the early short torpedo bravos on it too because it did not have the internal oil reservoir and he was sure that he needed some better newer drive technology. I also knew the guy that had the boat before and know that the X is really low on that boat so there is still a lot left on the table in my opinion. I am sure that jo has delivered some much faster than this from the factory though.

I remember Jo telling us about a 24' he had rigged with like 800HP and the boat ran 100...
There is an older 24' Superboat on Long Island rigged with a JC Performance engine and Bravo drive that runs over 100...
As for T-Mone's boat, he does routinely kick my azz with his 600HP powered 80+mph 24' Pantera. He does have like 150HP more than my little 75+mph Super though...
Personally, I don't think putting much more power than T-Mone has in one of these hulls is worth it. They really hit a wall at around 80...

Yah, that's what I've gleaned from reviewing old threads and talking to Ironman about the boat's performance with around 500 hp.
Personally, if I were to pump my boat up, I'd probably just do a soft 502 or 540 and shoot for 500 - 550hp range. I'd guess that would probably put me up close to 80 which would be more than enough.
It's fun to hear what the craziest of the crazy do though!
That 632 boat... Is that the Merlin tall deck stroker motor that I've seen in Summit for like $6,500 as a short block or did he build it?
