Boat looks great guys.....nice to see the innovation.

Should be a good boat for the Bimini run.

The 1st Pantera 28' TS will be powered by a single 525 EFI.

Here are a few pictures of the recessed hull sides going in this afternoon. The recessed hull sides are incorporated into the lamination. It is very important to be precise on where they are located since it is a 1 time deal. We mad a jig off an existing 28' sitting here on the floor to use as a referance in locating the parts into the hull mold.LED lights will be incorporated into this design to give the boat a very unique look while boating at night.

Wow

LED lights in the recessed hull sides......are they going to be navigation lights (i.e. one side red one side green)? I think if I saw one of these at night coming at me I would probobly shut my pants This will truly be the most innovative 28ft boat on the market. Congrats to you Jo, raising the bar that much higher. Keep it up and you'll run the competition out of business.

Very Cool!!
I remember seeing the recesses had already been laid up - or at least prototypes - when I was there a few weeks ago, and I was wondering how you were working them in. Should make for a very cool look!
I like the idea of the LED lighting - though, under navigation, there are twists and tangles there...
I had that idea years ago (not LED, but some type of lighting - neon or something) but I was probably 12, and I thought it would be cool while I was watching Miami Vice...
Keep the pics coming, I'll enjoy watching the build!

Neat Stuff for Sure!
Will this boat have sit down seats or stand and sit seats?

Hey Jo, nice talking to you at the boat show!

What's the idea of putting the recesses in when the mold is gelcoated and laminated already and you will have to cut them out later ie. why not put them in before coating the mold?

This will be one BAD PANTERA!

Will it be possible to modernize the standard hulls by putting in the steps or is there something that says you cant? Weight distribution, notch etc?

The way I did is, after I had the skin Matt layed up. I lined up the pc. in the hull, the reason I did it like that, is that to just set the recessed pc in the mold, there is no way that it can be held in place while the mold is being sprayed and laminated w/ the skin coat, w/o having to "scar" the hull mold.

Boat building is equivalent to a chef, different chefs have different ways to prepare the food for different tastes.
What works for me does not have to work for somebody else!

Later,
Pp.

PS, That will conclude "boat building 101" for this week!
