Boat trim - fixing carpeted side panels

possibly one for Jo

Retrimming cabin vinyl and removed the wooden side panels which have the grey carpet overthem. Seems that the fixing is achieved by spray glue across the boat hull and then little mounds of glue (in UK the stuff is called GRIPFILL (like Liquid nails) and its a petroleum solvent glue that are attached to the panel.

Is that right - thats what Im thinking it is?

Boat is a 92 24SE

thanks Jo will do - Im just getting the cabin the way it was carpet over ply is still good and all vinyl and exterior ply thats gone off is being changed - bit of paint in the bilges and its all good.

First pic is the cabin, second is the inside starboard hull showing what looks like spray glue and the third pic shows the the white 'blob' of glue that grips the carpet covered ply side panel. Both panels in good condition by the way, so surprising good nic - just shows the good workmanship.
