Default Hello Dru,

Dru ,
Welcome to the Forum . I am just finishing my 2002 28 Pantera ( actually getting the interior from Linda on Monday) .
I have a set of 502 's which have been massaged to 500-550horse power . ( Its hard to tell unless they're dyno'd)
I boat in the Barneget Bay between the Manasquan and Barnegat
inlets .
We can hook up this summer - I have a place on the water in Silverton .
I am dying to see what this boat will run . Last year , these motors pushed my 27 Magnum ( 7500+ lbs. ) to 85 mph on the GPS . I changed the cams this year to Comp Cams rollers ( .600" lift ) with shorter duration in hopes of getting my idle quality back . I think they will be down on horsepower but with the 1000+ lbs savings and better weight distribution , I hope to be up in the 90s'. The water test will tell all!
Any way , let me know when you will be in the area . We'll hook up at the Waters' Edge Bar for cocktails .

JSM

I have been using the 800dp but I think that it is only good for about 525hp so I am going to try a 950. thanks, Ironman.

The Bigger the Better !!!!!!

What motor do you have and in what boat ?
I kinda got into this forum late . Sorry if you already told everyone.

I build a lot of boat motors and am always interested in finding
out what works and what is BS!

It is a 509" in a 24' alum heads, hyd roller... It should be close to the max cfm of the 800 , at 5500rpms. 850 would probably be good but I found this 980 here on the board that I will try. I did not want to modify the 800 too much because it works really well the way it is set up now and if I run in to problems with bigger carbs I can easily bolt it back on. Ironman.

Default Boating on the Upper Chesapeak

Dru
I was up on the Chesapeak this past weekend and had blast with
some really great people. There was a band on the sand island off of the Haver de gras (sp?) channel on Saturday afternoon. We had about 10 boats rafted and lots of beer. This was a nice warm up for our return with our 28 Dangerkitty. Can't wait to see how your project turns out. If you get done before July 1st look up some of my frinds on the flats. Randy 37 Bahia, Jarret 28
Sunsation they are great people. We will be at the Naughty Goose on the 3rd of July to watch the fire works.
