What do you guys think a 24 with a stock 260 small block with an alpha drive would hit? 50mph?

Thanks for your input... I'm thinking about picking one up setup like this, I know she will be a bit slow but it would get me on the water for now. But... I could see a 350 mag mpi with a whipple charger in this boat.

I'd bet a 400+ hp SBC and a Bravo would be a good setup in one of these. I'd be curious to see.

The brown boat is a nice example from its time period.
But be careful, you'll have to upgrade from the alpha to a B1($4k) to handle a 450hp sbc($10k) and probably ext steering to be safe($3k).

I'd say run it like it is and enjoy it for what it is.

Picked up a 24 Pantera SE with a stock 260hp small block, she tops out at 51.6mph on gps with half tank of fuel @ 4000 rpm spinning a 23p mirage, its a bit tall for the engine but that's what came with the boat. Just borrowed a 21p to see how she likes it. Boat rides very well and very balanced with the small block.
