Default 24 Excalibur project drive x dimension

I am newer to offshore only and just picked up a 24 Excalibur. I posted this question on the Excalibur forum but people told me to post it here since the Pantera tread gets more traffic and bc the boats are the same mold? The transom is bad so i figured Id raise the X dimension to get more speed? Has anyone ever been successful with this and if so how far did you go? I am running the Trs drive and merc two transmission that has been built with extra clutches etc to hold the hp I will be running

My X is 17.25" putting my propshaft 4.5" below the boat. IMO it could be 1-2" higher. But, Pantera 24s have a lot of natural bow lift. The Excalibur may need the deeper prop leverage to carry the bow. Also, not sure of the height in the bilge of an Excalibur but I am already really close.

Looks kinda high already ! Did you take the TRS out of it and if so did you get a base line measurement before you removed it ? Anything over 17" will blow out and cause porpoise .

I did not measure it before hand bc I didn't plan on changing it but it wouldn't take long to put the gimble back on and measure... where should i measure from? from the pad to? Im not to sure on this part?

Measure from the pad to the crank centerline. There may be a way to figure it out by measuring to the mark left by the transom assy. With a Bravo you add 9.25". Maybe Griff will chime in as he may know.

What's the ctc on a TRS, is it the same 21.8125" as a Bravo?

BTW the Army race boat has a 18.5" X.

If I remember correctly Jo said the Army boat was hard to get on plane and would blow out in turns but had great speed .

Be careful what you get in to ! I was gust gonna lift my TRS and the next thing you know I did a full resto . . Now my X is at 26" ! Go figure that one out !
