By the end of May 2012 I had all the wood out of the hull except half the transom. Summer was in full swing. My wife and I had a bunch of weddings to go to, out of town guests, and weekend trips. It was also getting really hot working in a Tyvek suit.
I got zero work done on the boat.
My cousin got married on Lake George at the end of July, so My wife and I, along with my parents and my sister's family, rented a house and stayed on the lake for a week. I was supposed to bring my boat, but as you can see, it wasn't ready. We rented some piece of junk instead.
There were some great boats on that lake that really provided inspiration for me to keep going.
August 4, 2012 - Inspiration on Lake George
28 Pantera, 24 Superboat, and G5 classic a couple buildings down from where we were staying. Walked over with my nephews to look at these.
28 Pantera a short walk away

I had bought 3 sheets of 3/4" Okume marine plywood and 1708 cloth for the transom and stringers, but I was having trouble finding time to go work on the boat.
I was also looking for side work to help fund this project, and the heating system in my house crapped out beyond repair. So I got no work done on the boat for the rest of the summer and fall.
My friend had been looking for someone to help me out with the fiberglass work. He found Pete from New Hampshire on craigslist. Pete seemed knowledgeable and his rates where fair. Winter was coming, the boat was all cut up, and I had nowhere to work on it. I have never done this type of work before, so you can imagine how inefficient I was. I also didn't want to be out of the water for too many more years, so I decided to use my time on side work and took a chance on Pete.
I delivered the boat to him in November 2012, I believe.
December 4, 2012 - Transom and stringers
The original stringers were made out of a 16' 1x10 pine. We decided to do 2 layers of 3/4" marine ply overlapping the joints and wrapping in 3 layers of 1708. The transom was also 2 layers of 3/4" marine ply and 3 layers of 1708.
The original cabin bulkhead was not tied in to the piece between the stringers. We decided to tie everything together.
I was going with a bravo, probably changing the X dimension, and definitely raising the exhaust, so we sealed the transom openings.
Hatch gone

Thanks guys. My cousin's wedding was at the Sagamore. We rented a cabin across the chanel. Easy to stumble home after the party. Lake George was great. The water was clean and super warm.

NICE!!
The fiberglass guy that Anu is using is Peter Southard, he's doing an awesome job and will get to lower the floor on my Magnum 27 after he completes this boat. If you are in the northeast, and are looking for a guy with talent to glass work at fair rates... Anu has his contact info!
