Default Engine mount ???

'78 24 Pantera with a BBC, The engine mounts consist of a pedastal style mount on the factory mounting location on the side of the block. These pedastals sit on an angle bracket bolted thru the stringer. There are no other mounts or support back near the trans., is this normal? I was pissed I had to pull the engine out today so I didn't take pics but can tomorrow.

That is "normal". The rear attaches to the inner transom plate.

I'm going to fabricate a "cradle" to fit between the stringers for my front mount.

Everything seems solid but its quite a big span between the engine mounts and the transom plate.
