Hey Guys,
That is the Plum Loco 24 that we built for a customer in Panama City, Fla.It raced in 1992 with APBA in A - class. It was powered with a single 650 HP high compression small block with headers and a Bravo 1 drive. The motor was slid forward with a jack shaft for balance. This boat won a few APBA nationals and finished in the top three at every race it attended. It would run in the mid to upper 80s for speed. The boat had a custom 3 man bolster and the rear bulkhead was moved forward allowing for a much larger engine room. Our customer also wanted to have the headers go through the hatch over the transom. The hatches would open to the sides. The entire boat was sprayed in a custom ordered purple gel coat.
I heard from my customer a while back that he had powered the boat with an 850 HP big block and had it running 102 MPH with some more left in it.
Regards,
JO
