Cheap hotels near boat show

I'm looking for cheap hotels near the boat show. Plan on walking to the show if possible and of course visiting the best damn boat builders in the world - Pepe and Jo!!!

Anyone in the area that can make some recommendations, I'd appreciate it. I don't need anything fancy, just a place to pass out!!!

Hotels

Last year we paid around $150-00 a night in Ft Lauderdale to sleep in dumpster. Thats all we could find. My buddy went to Priceline.com on the day we left for the show and found accomodation at major hotel for $100-00 a night. We were pissed, this time I will take my chances and find something like he did or when I get there. Once you move out of Miami & head North you'll find a hotel. Same happens with Bike week, just show up & there is always somewhere to sleep.
See you at the show
John

Looking
I've been looking for a few days around the South Beach_ Miami area close to the Convention center and all rooms are booked up except for the rat holes or the ones at $450 up per night. I think I'm going to try for something away from that place and spend the extra money on something other then a place to lay down for a few hours.

You guys should try in Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale.
If you are here over the weekend, check all the airport hotels, as their rates are rock bottom then.
