Does anybody have a 28 or 24 pantera with twin outboards?
I am looking for Pantera performance information for a twin outboard on a bracket set up.
Anyone have a porta product bracket? Porta jack (half jack plate, half bracket).
Thanks

Hey Air Dog:

Lost in Boston,
Ya, your the guy I'm looking for.
I saw your boat on the Pantera Website. I am looking to do exactly what you did.
I am slowly refurbishing a 1989 24' Banana Boat. Last step is to eliminate the motor well and add a bracket for the twin Outboards.
Jeb Brown who raced Banana Boats raved about the portabracket.
How do you like yours?
I can't decide wether to have the cockpit go all the way to the transom like your Pantera or leave the 1/2 Sun Pad look. Any recommendations?
Did you strenthen your transom with transom knees at all?
Your Pantera is very unique and looks great...
Thanks for the reply.
Chris

Chris.
I took it all the way to the transom so i could use it for fishing. If your not going to do this i would recommend the half sunpad. As far as strengthing it, Pantera did some of the work, and Edit Marine finished it and did all the rigging. If they felt that it needed to be strengthened, im sure they did. The boat is solid.
I love the portabracket. I keep my boat in the water for 3 days at a time. the bracket allows me to keep the engines fairly close to the hull but be able to lift them up over the transom to tilt them completely out of the water. Also, when the bracket is down all the way i can almost instantly get up on a plane. When running i can trim the bracket up to reduce drage and get better efficiency and more speed. i was originally going to go with jack plates but then decided on this. The portabracket was Eddie Thortons idea. The bracket has a higher lifting range then the plates.

Thanks for the advice.
Did you used to live in Boston?
Anyway you could e-mail me some more pictures of your boat? The ones in the ad won't blow up bigger for a closer look.
Any of the Cabin?
I will pm you my e-mail address.
