Philadelphia Poker Run/Offshore Boat Race????

What happened to this event?? Did it go away due to lack of interest, entrants and sponsorship? Was it due to any other reasons? What years did it take place...2000, 2001 & 2002? Did this become the "Rock The Bay" poker run which started in 2003 on the Chesapeake Bay?

I think there is some kind of race in Philly in October maybe? I believe it is an annual event that began last year...but I missed it!! Does anyone out there know some more info. about it?? (what date/time/boats to expect, etc.) Please let us know...I don't want to miss thiss one!! Thanks for the help/info.

The NJPPC did the Philly Poker Run for a couple of years, we had a few issues with this run that just made it impossible to run. Like after the unfortunate 911 the first run, Coast Guard not letting us go beyond 40mph some boats couldn't even plane off! Then having Coast Guard and Navy boats wwith guns pointed at you (saying if you go faster then Idle past Camden, The Airport or Naval yard we will warn you by fireing a shot not in the air but at you. Thats wasn't a fun situation! If you headed for the Airport, Naval Yard or any major ships you will be shot! (What happened if you needed to get in and broke) We were under watchful eye and there was no room to make any mistakes, the next year we were not granted the permits to run, because of the threat that we can have. so that but an end to the Poker Run in Philly.
