For some clarification,

The Village of LAke George, was very helpful and supportive of our efforts to bring a poker run back to Lake George. Unfortunately the difference between a poker run and other events hosted in Lake George like Americade and The Adirondack Nationals is that a poker run is hosted on the water and therefore falls under the jurisdiction of the LGPC.

The LGPC made it perfectly clear, allbeit at the last minute, that they did not want a Poker Run on Lake George. Not only did they request DEC revoke our regatta permit, previously reviewed and approved by the LGPC in JUne, but they also resinded their decision to suspend the decible limit for participating boats. They also reversed their previous determination and have deemed any passage through the narrow islands, even at 45 mph, to dangerous. Making it impossible to navigate the Lake. They have in effect made it impossible to hold a poker run on LG and meet the standerds they have choosen to impose.

All letters of complaint and dissapointed should be directed to the LGPC and the Local Media as it is the PArk Comissions actions alone that have made this even impossible.

Thank You for your support, Jason Saris. Performance Marine, event co-sponser.

So that it is too late to hold another meeting to have it changed.

But When The Village Looks Like A Ghost Town They Have The Balls To Chase Away Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars! Most Of The Seasonal Population Has Aready Left For The Season. Makes Perfect Sence To Me? Again Bring It To Lc. You Won't Be Disapointed. Call It A Fun Fall Run. Plenty Of Rooms And Free Docking Availible On Both Sides Of The Lake.
I agree!!!!

Mr. Young,

It is with surprise and great disappointment that I was informed yesterday that your agency had asked to revoke the Regatta Permit issued by the DEC to Poker Run Production LLC for a Poker Run to take place on the Lake weekend of October 10th 2009.

My wife and I were looking forward to an enjoyable long weekend in picturesque surroundings. It must be particularly upsetting to the organisers that you chose to wait until this late hour to make your request. Why was there no objection to the Bass fishing tournament held this summer on the lake which had 97 boats participate? It is difficult to comprehend your commissions intolerant and discriminatory stance. Considering the amount of time, effort and expense put in to such an event I would not be surprised if the organisers take legal action against you and your agency.
I would also expect significant repercussions from the local business community due to the loss of revenue caused by your actions. Lastly I hope you and your associates all make extra large donations to the Warren county food bank this year to make up for the lost donations.

Same old Adirondack Park/Adirondack Councilman Mentality:
Powers That Be have economic autonomy and LITTLE REGARD for the people that have to make a living in the area.
Too bad the locals have to suffer!

Just FYI, the local paper is the Post Star in Glens Falls

Same old Adirondack Park Adirondack Council mentality. Those with financial autonomy and subsequent power legislate with little regard for the locals who have to live and work in the area. We all know their sense of morality is the true set of rules. Who knows? We could call the Poker Run the FrankenRun! posted from Doc John
