LAKE CUMBERLAND POKER RUN - September 7th Weekend
Make plans now to attend the Best and most fun Poker Run of the year. Known across the country as the one of the Poker Run events not to miss, the Lake Cumberland Poker Run is legendary. Non-stop entertainment, Big Prizes, great sponsors, Tens of thousands of spectators and one of the most beautiful lakes in the country are just a few reasons why performance boat enthusiasts flock to Lake Cumberland every September.
For those not familiar, the Poker Run is a lake-wide event where the poker runners come down to show off the biggest, fastest and most incredible boats you've ever seen. Starting early Saturday morning, the boats take off and go to designated locations on the lake to pick up poker cards to try and get the best hand out of five cards by the end of the day.
The lake is where the action is, while State Dock is where all the fun is. These amazing power boats are parked along the docks for spectators to come down and admire all weekend.Grab a bite to eat at one of several food vendors and stay for some great entertainment on both Friday and Saturday Night!
We are totally amped about this year’s entertainment lineup. We’ve got new acts to join us at Poker Run and some long time favorites. Up first is nationally recognized DJ RYAN COXX. Ryan will do a live special guest performance both Friday and Saturday night on Bill Kingery’s “Party Barge”. As a veteran to the music industry, COXX has played with celebrity artists such as Havana Brown and is currently an official DJ for Red Bull Energy Drinks and MAXIM Magazine.
Kicking off the live bands for the big weekend of entertainment is State Dock’s newest band to perform at Poker Run, Borrowed Blue. These guys really need to know how to bring the house down!
Saturday: POKER RUN DAY! The Lake Cumberland Poker Run begins at 10:00 CST. After the morning run to Burnside, the runners return to State Dock for lunch and then back on the water with the last stop at Grider Hill. Many of the participants will then go to Harmon Creek for a post run raft up.
We Need Your Help to Keep our Poker Runners Safe! Please leave in time to get in place for viewing the poker run and allow time for the water to settle down. Large waves and rollers from spectator boats can create dangerous water for high speed boats. Please do not operate at speeds that create large wakes around the starting times. The Poker Run boats will leave around 10:00 on Saturday and will return for lunch around noon.
During these times, please be courteous and keep your wakes to a minimum from State Dock to the east. After lunch, there is no organized start. They will travel to Wolf Creek Marina then west to Grider Hill and then the Poker Run is officially over and many will go to Harmon Creek for a raft up. Please give the guys plenty of room to run and nice smooth and safe water!
SATURDAY ENTERTAINMENT!
Coming to the stage on Saturday night is one of State Dock’s favorite bands Caught Red Handed. We love these guys and you will too! Every year they come to the Poker Run they never fail to disappoint!
In addition to being club favorites throughout Lexington and the surrounding area, the current lineup of Caught Red Handed has also been selected to appear with National Acts on several occasions over the past few years.
RYAN COXX is also back spinning jams on the dance floor down on boatel row!
Entrance to the each night's entertainment is $20. Entry for both nights can be purchased for $30.

After our first poker run earlier this year, I found your boats speed doesn't really matter. Running in a large group of boats, if you ain't out front, your in a washing machine.. I can push 90, but a couple miles out, top speed was quickly reduced a 50 mph max cruise. About tossed the dog out on a couple waves. So don't forget the PFD's and lanyard.
I'm showing up as a spectator to check out the scene this year, should be a good time if the weather holds out. And yes it's defiantly a BYOB area.
