Experience the Grand Prix of the Sea
All week: Feel the thrill of piloting a P1 Evolution Class powerboat through the waves at over 200km per hour, in the new Powerboat P1 Simulator - a free, 3-minute, Disney-esque white knuckle ride!

The Powerboat P1 2009 season launches in Malta, a well-established P1 destination, celebrating its sixth anniversary on the circuit, in May 8-10, followed by Grand Prix of the Sea events in Turkey, Sweden, Italy and Bahrain over the next five months.

Asif Rangoonwala, Powerboat P1's Chairman and CEO, comments, "It should be a fascinating and extremely competitive season as the series visits both Istanbul, Turkey and Scandinavia for the first time, with Gothenburg being the host venue in August, then we head to Italy and the season finale in Manama, Bahrain. We are keen to encourage new manufacturers and teams into the sport, as we build a global fan base. In addition to the spectacular racing, P1 has a clear focus on audience engagement both on and off the water."

Now in its 7th year, Powerboat P1 has grown from a relatively small European-based series to one with true international appeal. Both manufacturers and global audiences enjoy access to the Powerboat P1 spectacle while cities, regions and countries see the economic impact and international media visibility value that the World Championship delivers.
