I'm not promising anything, BUT - I may try to get down there! How far roundtrip will it be from Manhasset Bay to New York City and back? I'm wondering how much fuel I'll need from CT, and if there will be a good spot to fill up during the run.

Jromy, from Manhasset Bay to downtown manhattan is about 30minutes at 50mph, give or take a few.
You can fill up in Man. bay. Brewers has 89octane, they are at the entrance to the bay on the north side. A little further east, still on the north side is LaMottas, they have 93octane.

Thanks Storm. Well it looks like I'm definately making the run. I haven't run the boat in about 3 weeks, so as long as I don't have any gremlins, I'll be in Manhassett at noon.

JROMY, nice to finally meet ya, didn't see much of you after we left the docks, I was the pace boat for the first crew which was made up of all the wild local Lake George guys. (Boomer, Frankie, Sonny B and Qwirk etc.) One mile from the village they all flew by me at 90+. So much for keeping the pace! It was a BLAST! We were so far out in front of the pack I havn't seen 1 picture yet of my boat or any of the others in the blue group. I hope you had a good time. I talked to Chris (COWIS) up at the view briefly, had hoped to catch up with you guys later. Make sure you have that kick a$$ boat with you in the spring run and talk Indy and Active into coming up with you.

How was the NYC brunch run on Sunday?

I didnt make the run. To much to get the boat on the trailer for Sunday. I was out today and it was very nice.

Check this out. I was running yesterday for about 10 minutes and saw my port temp guage rise over 150. My eyes are always glued to those guages. I immediately shut that motor down and limped to the dock. I assumed it was another water pump impeller, but at the dock when I started her up, I heard water pumping into the bilge. Brought to the marina this morning and they jumped right on it for me cause I wanted to use the boat today since I had off of work. The mechanic reached in back and could put his fingers through the hose from the oil cooler. The hose just totally ruptured for no reason. Good thing I shut it right down without really overheating. They fixed it in 10 minutes and it ran great today.
Geez. I was nervous, but thank god it was nothing.
