I'd take the Cig over both boats personally. I dont see how the 38PP, a very nice boat, could ride better than a 42 Tiger though especially a 42X. From what I've heard the Cig customer service is only good if you go through Philly or just bought a brand new boat. I've had very good customer service with Hustler though. For a steady 100mph+ ride I wouldn't suggest any of the three. Now the newer 39 Cig's are another story. If your looking to run well at 100+ in a vee look at Outerlimits or get a cat. There are alot more of them running 100+ than all the others. If you dont need a cabin look at the Cig Gladiators or the Donzi ZR comp. You will get to 100 with less power and less coin, and you cant beat sitting down. Thats my .02

As to the Tiger vs the 38 PP, there are a 2 guys on this board, not mentioning names that also prefered the ride, and has experience on both, and one we all know very well. They both are awesome boats, I feel the 38 PP on re-entry is slightly softer. It does feel slightly more top heavy in cross waves, where's the Tiger is slightly more sporty. It's all in what your looking for. I like a heavier boat, alot of headroom in the cabin, and a 38 PP fits this bill, other alternatives are a 39 Nortech which is actually almost 41'. When you get in this league they all have their + & -'s.

But have you guys been in 42X tigers with NXT's or number
6's to compare the ride to a 38 PP? I believe the guy is looking to get into a 100mph boat. A heavy boat with lots of headroom and a big cabin is going to need alot of power to reach those speeds. That means more headaches. As I said before look at Outerlimits even if they're older ones or a sit down if you dont need a cabin. For us we perfer the sit down boats with no cabin of any sort. Your right though in which they all have their + and -'s.

Could you give us a price range so then we can throw out some choices that fit what you are looking for. Then you can get an idea of what is out there.

Ozzie (The Wizard) had one that went over 100, I think he loved it. Check with him, not sure if he ever visits this owners forum anymore since he's move on to a Nor-Tech cat.

I am very happy the way my 33 runs over 90. Not much harder to drive than a 500hp boat at 80. Eventually you run out of bottom length, but 100 is very possible in a 33.

thers a guy near me with 2 650hp supercharged engines for sale just don't know if it would be money well spent or just taking that money and sell the boat to jump into a newer boat ready to go

Goin Nuts running my Powerplay at those speeds are pretty good you do need to run a little tab in smooth water.
