Angry Socket Dropped Next To Fuel Tank?

Any ideas on how to retreive a socket from next to or under the fuel tank on a 260? I was changing a sender and the dam thing fell and rolled past the towel i put on side of tank to prevent this. Is there any way to get good access? I thought maybe thru the drain hole in engine compartment? Any ideas will be of great help!!!

Well the tanks are aluminum....so you could find a small magnet and tie a string to it and hope for the best.
Or just use the boat and hope the socket works its way into the bilge area..

Inside your cabin under the sliding door peel the carpet back and you will find a access hole.you should be able to see both sides of the fuel tank.
