Spinning in gives you bow lift by pulling the stern down and yes the tabs will give you a nice flat ride.

No change of watch, always seem to fall on mom's side Xmas.

PQ380 mentioned turning them out reduces bow steer. So if turning them in increases bow lift, wouldn't it also reduce bow steer? Maybe I'm just confused. Wouldn't be the first time

Don't be confused
I did not go back and read his post but if that's what he said then I disagree (strongly)
Spinning in pulls the transom down creating bow lift.. Spinning out creates stern lift forcing the bow down and in the case of the 38 and the center of gravity this will cause bow steer unless you have nothing in the cabin!
