Best replacement hatch actuator
I purchased my (new to me) 2001 28' Silencer this fall. It was my first Powerquest purchase. The boat is great except for the POS engine hatch actuator. I thought about adding a separate hatch motor relay, but decided to replace the underpowered actuator entirely. What is a good replacement?

Rex has one as well. I just called them a couple days to order the relay, to find out they no longer offer it. They now sell the entire unit and if I'm not mistaken was between $225 & $250.

Re: Best replacement hatch actuator
Mine lasted for 6 years before it broke. Kept it maintained, but broke internally. My first choice for a replacement was from CP Performance part# 620-920018 for $223.99, but was backordered. Not wanting to wait, I purchased a Livorsi HA18 which is a little nicer and colors to match the boat for around $280 + shipping. Used existing mounting hardware (had to re-drill bottom mount and spread top mount a little) and it works great and fast, even with existing wiring on a 2001 380 Avenger. Hope this helps.

I took a voltage reading at the actuators input terminals while it was in use. With the engine off, the voltage was never dipped below 11 volts. Installing an actuator relay seems to work for some of you, but I don't think it's a voltage drop issue for me. I think the actuator is just tired, or needs grease on the worm gear.

Re: Best replacement hatch actuator
After looking at my receipt, I paid $289 for HA18 and $39 for color + shipping. I ordered through CP Performance and they gave me a discount because they were out of stock on the one I wanted (part# 620-920018). They had it drop shipped directly from Livorsi.
