Hey,

When I had my 290 the amp was in the closet with the unit mounted above the door.

Both of my PQ's had them mounted in the closet in the cabin in front of the port seat.

When you run some REAL horsepower for an amp, It wont go in the closet cause it will be about 200 degrees in there !!!! HEY Skoboat you better call me first. I do have some knowledge on this subject.

I have to dispute that high horsepower amps run just fine, you just need to add a couple of fans to the wall of the closet, one pushing cool air in from the bottom and one pulling air out the top.

The 3 amps are Rockford Power Series amps 800rms / 2400 peak

you can see the bottom fan in the picture of the caps and wiring on the back wall

Thats one clean installation! I'm only running one 1200 watt amp so I've never had an issue.

Talking

Speedreader,

Ya, I know you know a little bit about this and I was planning to give you a call when I started. I just wanted to see what everyone else had to say about other options.

ckentling, That is a very clean install !!! My only comment on that was I am running 2-1200 amps on the subs and 1-3200 on the rest. I really just need a bigger closet !!! Hey, You think the wife will go for that as a reason to buy a bigger ride !!??

Thanks, I understand the need for a bigger closet, but I made fit what I had in the garage at the time, but always wished I had more power.

I am going to do Alpine PDX's in the next boat, a lot of bang for the buck and lot more efficent that the my old Fosgate high current amps.

I am in the market for a 38 now, if I can just find the one that has the options I want for the price I want to pay, there seems to be a slight diconnect between those two factors right now
